👋👨🏻🦲 Hi, it's Jason behind the keyboard!
***
Today we're doing something a little different...
In this series we've been talking about what it takes to launch digital products in a CALM way, and rather than tell you what's possible with launching, we want to SHOW you.
We can't think of anyone who better exemplifies calm launching and what it can do to transform your business than our buddy and WAIM superstar, Wayne Fick.
Wayne has managed to do something so many solopreneurs dream of—he has has taken back the control in his business by making the tough pivot from client work into successfully selling digital products with a calm, profitable, and growing brand.
Two years ago, Wayne was right where many of us have been...
- stressed by the unpredictability of client work 🤪,
- feeling stretched thin 😫,
- wanting to take back the control in his business 😤,
- but scared to make that first big move 😰.
With the support and resources of WAIM, he finally decided to take the leap into products.
But, big leaps aren't always linear. His first product launch only sold a whopping 7 sales.
(That's what we call a "floppy launch" and we've all been there!)
The amazing thing about Wayne, though, is that he had already bought into WAIM's core philosophy: 🧪 It's all an experiment! 🧪
He knew it was just a matter of understanding his audience better and pivoting. So, he changed his product to an online course teaching how to create beautifully branded graphics with Canva.
His next launch? $3,500, then $10,000, then—during his latest calm launch—$30,000! All with an email list of less than 3,000 subscribers.
What was the secret to this growth in less than 18 months?
It wasn’t some fancy marketing trick or a secret formula. It was systematizing his launch process—executing the same fundamentals repeatedly to better and better results.
(PS. We teach these exact core strategies inside our new program Calm Launch Formula ✌️🚀, which you can get your hands on when WAIM Unlimited opens up August 26th! 😉)
Systematizing is the key calm launch fundamental we’re diving into today.
But first, if you want to hear about Wayne's journey and how things have completely transformed for him over the past year and a half, we sat down with Wayne for an interview to dig deeper into his experience. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this—there are so many gems in this one. Click here to watch the full interview on YouTube and hear Wayne's story firsthand.
Now, let’s talk about how you can start systematizing your own launches, just like Wayne did...
Calm Launch Fundamentals Lesson #2: SYSTEMATIZE
Let’s be real: Launching can feel like herding cats—chaotic, messy, and downright exhausting (thankfully, with a lot less kitty litter tho 🐈🙊). But, as we talked about in last week's email, this isn't the only way.
With the right systems in place, your launch can be something you actually look forward to (we promise!).
Here’s how to make your launches repeatable and stress-free by systematizing your process, just like Wayne did:
👉 One central launch hub: This might sound simple, but it's embarrassing how long it took us to do this. Make sure you have your launch materials—schedules, email templates, task lists—in one place. We use Notion for this, and it’s been a game-changer. Wayne set up a similar system, duplicating everything he needed for each launch. No more starting from scratch every time!
👉 Reuse what works: The beauty of systematizing is that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Wayne reused his best email templates and sales page copy from previous launches, tweaking only what was necessary. This saved him tons of time and energy.
“I had some of the assets to reuse...I just needed to tweak them. It made the whole process feel so much more manageable.” – Wayne
👉 Focus on the fundamentals: Instead of trying to do all the things, focus on what actually moves the needle. For Wayne, this meant honing in on storytelling that resonated with his audience, rather than getting lost in the weeds of complex marketing tactics.
“I realized I didn’t need to do everything. By focusing on the essentials, I could launch with confidence and calm.” – Wayne
👉 Build-in time to reflect and adjust: After each launch, Wayne took the time to analyze what worked and what didn’t. He used this feedback to improve his systems for the next round, making each launch smoother and more successful than the last (remember: 7 sales to a $30,000 launch!)
That’s it. It’s all about simplifying, streamlining, and sticking to what works. When you systematize your launch, you take the guesswork out of the process, leaving you with more time to focus on what really matters—connecting with your audience and delivering an incredible product.
In this podcast episode, Caroline talks about how one of the mistakes she made early in her business was not systematizing her branding course launch that was working, instead opting to create entirely new courses which only created more unpredictability and stress.
taking action ⚡️
Organize your launch hub
To start systematizing today, we want you to take action and:
Take ten minutes to organize your launch materials into a central hub.
This could be a Google Drive folder, a Notion page, a Canva folder, an Asana project... heck, it could even be a real file folder in your desk drawer 🗄️. The point here is to identify ONE central location where all your launch collateral lives.
Pull all the links, documents, and assets you'll need for your next launch. It's very hard to make your launch systematic and repeatable when you can't find that sales email document you wrote a year ago! You will me amazed at how much calmer you feel just by getting yourself organized.
Okay, you know the drill. Once you complete your mission, hit reply to let us know you took action. This is the first step towards your next calm launch!
