what we're up to:

👋 Well... all we can say is yesterday was very interesting.

You might notice we're coming to you on Tuesday rather than our regularly scheduled Monday newsletter.

That's because, in case you missed it on the news, the power went out across the ENTIRE Iberian Peninsula 😱😱. Portugal 🇵🇹 and Spain 🇪🇸 were in a complete blackout for most of the day with no idea how long it would be until power was restored.

We won't lie, it was a very eerie feeling, and it definitely highlighted just how reliant we are in this modern age on electricity/internet/cell service.

At the same time, there were all sorts of moments that left us feeling grateful: Walking around our community talking to helpful neighbors, playing cards and Scrabble instead of being glued to our laptops, Portuguese friends offering to lend us their gas stoves... at times it felt like we stepped into a time machine before the internet was invented.

Thankfully, though, power was restored by about 9pm and we didn't have to subsist on peanut butter sandwiches 🙏😅. We hope everyone was able to stay safe amidst the chaos, but boy was that a little curveball that we didn't see coming 🥴.

We did luck out a bit on the timing, as Jason's mom and her husband were visiting us all last week and they just left on Friday. Here are some highlights from their first trip to our little Portuguese slice of heaven...

As for business updates, we're switching gears into pre-launch mode as we are almost 40 days out from our final launch of WAIM Unlimited ever. 😅
